Oxygen XML editor becomes slow when working with large DITA projects
Hello everyone,
I am working with a relatively large DITA project in Oxygen XML Editor, and I have noticed that the application sometimes becomes quite slow, especially when opening larger maps or validating multiple topics.
I have already tried closing unnecessary files and restarting Oxygen, but the issue still appears from time to time.
Are there any recommended settings or optimizations for improving performance when working with large DITA projects? For example, are there specific indexing, validation, or memory settings that I should check?
I would appreciate any suggestions or advice from users who have experienced something similar.
Thanks!

Re: Oxygen XML editor becomes slow when working with large DITA projects
Hi,
What version of Oxygen are you using?
About how large is your DITA Map (number of topics, submaps)?
Do you work with files from the local disk or from a remote storage system (content management system)?
In the Preferences->"DITA / Maps" page there is a checkbox "Expand references to other maps...", if you disable it, this should make loading DITA Maps in the main editor area in the Author mode faster.
You mentioned "Validating multiple topics", how are you validating the topics, are you using the "Validate and check for completeness" action from the DITA Maps Manager? How many topics do you validate and how much does it take you?
Regards,
Radu
